About Andrew Himmer

Andrew was a great friend if you were to look for him he would be taking public transport or hanging around the Bahnhof with his friends

Okay, hello. My name is  and today I'll be interviewing Andrew. thank you for agreeing to be interviewed. What time is it by you right now?

Uh, about to be three o'clock it's like 2 48 .

Okay. by us its 8 , almost nine. I'm interviewing you to learn more about how your identity shape your, our experiences in the world. We agreed to discuss your experiences moving to and leaving from Switzerland.

Yes.

I'm interested in this part of your identity, because I was there in that part of your life and it was very fun and interesting. Can we start with you telling me it was like leaving your friends from America, going to Switzerland?

Um, it was a bit sad actually cause um, my friends in America I've known them for a long time. And so it was, it was a very hard experience, but when I got to Switzerland, it was all good. Cause I made friends. So yeah

when you first got to Switzerland, uh, how was like getting to know the people there more?

Um, well to make new friends, it was actually easier than I thought because the community in switzerland was really nice and it was really good. There were the people there were great. And yeah.

What were your favorite things to do in Switzerland and why?

Um, definitely taking public transport because it was more like, I had my own freedom of doing things every day in the morning. So I was able hang out with my friends on the way to school and do stuff like that. Yeah.

Is there any people that you like to do your hobbies with,

Um, where like here in America or

No, no in, switzerland

Oh, um, well hang out with my friends after school, at the train station or sometimes I'd like to go to the bady with some of my, my other friends that I don't see a lot, so that was cool.

nice. What was the thing you missed most about Switzerland? Oh, wait, no, sorry, sorry. Uh, have you have any hobbies with you? Oh, have any of your hobbies that started here in Switzerland, stayed with you back in America? can you Explain?

Um, well maybe one of them were, was definitely starting to play basketball again because in Switzerland basketball was just like one of the sports that I got back into and it kind just stuck with me here

what is the thing you miss most about Switzerland?

Um, definitely my friends.

did Living in Switzerland. Change your perspective about life in Michigan?

Andrew

Yes, it did. Uh, it made me realize, um, how much more diverse, um, places like europe compared to America. And I actually really liked that. So. Nice.

“It was a very hard experience, but when I got to Switzerland, it was all good. Cause I made friends.

-Andrew Himmer

How did, uh, yeah. How did it feel leaving your friends behind twice, you know, after you left America and then you left Switzerland again?

Um, well, it was a bitter-sweet situation because I knew that I would see all my old friends from America, but I was kind of sad that I would have to leave my new friends in Switzerland.

So how did it feel to get to see your friends again after a long time of not being in Michigan?

Um, it felt fantastic. Cause I was able to reconnect with all these people.

That's nice. What are your best and worst memories of your time in Switzerland or your return to Michigan?

Um, my worst experience in Switzerland was probably some people on public transportation. Some people were mean and stuff, but I could get through it.

Do you think of Michigan differently than you used to?

Um, yeah, I do. I find it a bit more boring sometimes. Sometimes, cause I don't have a lot to do around. I kind of play with friends and go to school, I guess. <laugh>

It's almost time to end this interview. Is there anything else you would like to add?

Uh, yeah. I want to add that zis is a great school and you should go there. It's an excellent experience. And that's it.

Uh, if you were describing what made you, you in which place would be moving from Switzerland in America to be uh be. Would that be important to you or not so important?

Um, I think it's pretty essential. To Me, at least.

So that's the end of the interview. Thank you for letting me have an interview, and, I hope you have a great rest of the day. bye

Bye
