Have you gotten a bit less Spanish since moving to Switzerland?

“I think I have always been European because of the influence of my parents. Also married to a Dutch [man] living in the UK, Switzerland, and Spain. We also have a house in the French part [of Switzerland]. So I think that being all over Europe doesn’t affect My Spanish-ness.”

How have you changed since coming to Switzerland?

“I have had to adjust to the rules in Switzerland. Here it is a very strict district. I have had to adjust to how many people are quiet here rather than in Spain, where many people are loud.”

Did your personality change when coming to Switzerland?

“No, I haven’t changed my personality. I have just changed my perspective on things…”

How do you think being from different cultures shapes your identity?

“It makes you tolerant and respectful. You see that families are different all over the world. When it comes to culture and family for me Family comes first, Language comes Second, and University third. I am an international person, I have met many nationalities and I think that reflects my culture.”

“No, I haven’t changed my personality. I have just changed my view on life.”

Do you consider yourself Swiss?

“In my heart I’m Spanish but when I’m in Spain I feel like I’m swiss but when I’m in Switzerland I feel like I am Spanish”

What’s Your Perspective on the three cultures you are from?

“I make the most out of my cultures, I try and use them to my advantage as they are very reliable and helpful later in life”

“It makes you respectful and tolerant, You see that families are different all over the world”
